Plan Your Visit

We know visiting a new church for the first time can feel daunting. You might be wondering what to wear, where to park, what happens in the service, or whether you will feel out of place.

At Cornerstone Church Wirral, we want you to feel relaxed, welcomed, and at home from the moment you arrive. Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a church family, you are very welcome here.

We would love to meet you.

What to Expect on a Sunday

Our Sunday gathering lasts around 90 minutes and is relaxed, friendly, and focused on Jesus.

Here is what a typical Sunday looks like:

  • From 10:15am, tea and coffee are available and our welcome team will be ready to greet you.
  • At 10:30am, we begin with worship, singing songs that help us praise God together.
  • We read from the Bible and pray.
  • One of our teaching team shares a Bible message that connects God’s Word to everyday life.
  • We often share church news and ways to get involved.
  • We regularly take communion together.
  • After the service, many people stay for refreshments and conversation.

You do not need to know when to stand, sit, sing, or pray. Just relax and join in as you feel comfortable.

What should I wear?

There's no dress code.

Some people come in jeans and trainers. Others come in something a little smarter. Most come in whatever they feel comfortable wearing.

Come as you are.

Bringing Children and Families

We love having children and families as part of our church, and we want both parents and children to feel welcomed, supported, and at ease.

Cornerstone Kids (Ages 4 to 11)

During the service, we run age-appropriate groups where children can learn about Jesus in a fun, safe, and caring environment.

Our Cornerstone Kids programme is for children aged 4 to 11 years old.

  • Check-in opens from 10:15am in the back building
  • Sessions begin promptly at 10:30am
  • Children are welcome to bring a drink and a small snack if they would like

On your first visit, we use a simple but thorough check-in and registration process to help keep children safe. We recommend arriving around 10 minutes early to allow time to get signed in.

Our trained children’s team will be there to welcome you, help you register, and show you where to go.

Safety and Care

Your child’s safety is very important to us.

All our children’s leaders are trained and follow safeguarding procedures, and our check-in system helps us care for your child well during their time with us.

If you have any questions about how this works, our team will be happy to explain.

Children Under 4

Children under 4 are very welcome to stay in the main service. We do not mind noise, movement, or interruptions.

We also provide a dedicated family space in The Annexe, which is:

  • Open from the beginning of the service
  • Set up as a safe and welcoming space for young children
  • Equipped with a live stream of the service on a large screen

You are also welcome to use the Foyer, where the service can be heard through speakers.

Please feel free to use whichever space helps you and your child feel most comfortable.

Young People (Aged 11+)

We encourage children of secondary school age (11+) to remain in the main service, where they can listen, learn, and engage alongside the wider church family.

Your Choice as Parents

If you would prefer to keep your child with you in the service, that is absolutely fine. Your children are never obligated to attend Cornerstone Kids.

We want you to feel free to make the choice that works best for your family.

If you are visiting for the first time, we would love to introduce you to our Cornerstone Kids team. They will happily explain what your children will be learning that day and help you feel confident about where they will be.

If you have any questions at all, please speak to one of our team when you arrive. We are always glad to help.

Kids

Will I Be Put on the Spot?

No.

We will not ask you to stand up, speak, or introduce yourself publicly.

You are welcome to remain anonymous if you prefer, or to chat with people at your own pace.

Our desire is simply for you to feel welcomed and respected.

What Is Cornerstone Like?

We are a church family made up of people of all ages and backgrounds.

We are centred on the good news of Jesus, shaped by the Bible, and committed to loving one another and our local community.

We are not a perfect church, but we are a church seeking to grow together in faith, grace, and obedience to Christ.

After the Service

After most services, many people stay for tea, coffee, and conversation.

This is a great opportunity to meet others, ask questions, and get to know the church a little more, but there is no pressure to stay if you need to head off.

You are free to come and go as you wish.

Let us know you're coming

If you would like, you can let us know you are planning to come along.
